Dedicate an Area at Home
If you're receiving your medications and supplies at home, you need a place to store them. Choose a place with a constant room temperature, as most medications and supplies must be protected from excessive heat, cold, light, humidity and dampness. Make sure, too, that children and pets cannot reach that area. It should be separate from other household items and easy to keep clean.

As each shipment arrives, place the new medication behind your existing supply so you use the "oldest" first. Be sure to check the date of your medication before you use each dose - and never use outdated or expired products. Instead, set them aside and contact your personal care specialist for directions on how to dispose of these items.

Check Your Stock
Your delivery schedule will depend on the length of your therapy, the quantity of supplies you need and your available storage space. Your personal care specialist will contact you before each scheduled delivery just to review the medications and supplies you have on hand. If you see you're going to run short, call us to adjust your next order quantity and/or delivery date. Emergency deliveries can be arranged if you're running dangerously low.

Check the box for any signs of possible damage - holes, dents, watermarks, rips, etc. Remember, it is your responsibility to notify RX Biotech within one business day of delivery if any part of your shipment is missing, lost, stolen or damaged.

Take as Directed
The most important thing you can do to ensure your treatment is both safe and effective is to follow all instructions. Know if your medication is to be taken with food or on an empty stomach. Are there any foods, drinks or other medications to avoid during this treatment? Take note of any side effects or new symptoms and let your doctor know.

Dispose of "Sharps" and Materials
Very specific government regulations address disposal of used medical supplies. Make sure you obtain a "sharps" puncture-resistant container, where you'll put all used needles, razor blades, syringes or broken glass (from a medication bottle, for example). NEVER put any "sharps" items into the household trash. And never recycle any medical supplies. Contact RX Biotech, your physician or local waste management company for information on how to dispose of your "sharps" container.
